The Weekly Network Audit
Recency bias kills more networks than anything else. You remember the person you had coffee with on Tuesday. You forget the person who could make the intro that changes your year, because you last spoke four months ago. The people who could help you most are usually the ones you haven't talked to in a while.
So every Friday, before I close my laptop, I spend fifteen minutes on these five questions. Who did I meet. What loops are open. What value did I create. Who should I reach out to next week. Is any of this written down somewhere I'll find it.
The last question is the one people skip. If you can't find the information in three months when it matters, it might as well not exist. Fifteen minutes now is what makes next quarter make sense. Your conversations this week were investments. The Friday audit is how they compound.
