The Circle Audit

Run this against your Inner Circle. Frequency of contact is the least honest measure of closeness. These three questions are the real ones.
Is it Durable?
Can you go months without talking and pick up right where you left off, with zero awkwardness?
Is it Deep?
Do they know what you're actually carrying right now? Not the version you post about, the real one.
Is it Mutual?
Who's doing all the reaching? Real inner-circle relationships flow both ways.
A daily texter who only goes surface scores low. A friend you talk to twice a year who knows your soul scores high.

Once a quarter, I sit down and run every person in my Inner Circle through these three questions. This isn't about being cold or clinical about my relationships. It's about being honest with myself about which ones are actually doing what I need them to do.

A lot of relationships that look close from the outside are built entirely on the highlight reel. That's not depth, that's an audience. And I've had to be honest with myself more than once about relationships where I was the only one showing up. Moving those people to a different tier wasn't a punishment, it was just accuracy.

The point of this audit isn't to cut people off. It's to stop confusing frequency with closeness, because frequency is the easiest thing to fake and the least reliable thing to measure.
